Overview
SchedOwl is a simple, intuitive social media scheduler built for creators and marketing teams who need to schedule LinkedIn posts quickly. We focused on cutting complexity, offering a cleaner UI, and integrating helpful features like AI-assisted content writing (available in paid plans). LinkedIn is our starting point, and other platforms will follow soon.
My Role
I handled the entire product end-to-end strategy, design, website, blogs, customer support, and launches. We've successfully completed launches on Product Hunt and AppSumo, and I'm now preparing for future platform expansions.
Problem Statement
Most scheduling tools are either overly complex, packed with features few actually use, or so basic that their outdated UI feels frustratingly inefficient.
Users constantly told us two things clearly:
"The powerful schedulers are overwhelming and slow."
"The simple schedulers feel outdated and unpleasant to use."
SchedOwl was built to fill this gap, simple yet modern, powerful yet effortless.
Vision and strategy
SchedOwl’s design philosophy focused on three core pillars:

Modern Simplicity: A UI that feels fresh, clear, and intentionally minimal.
Value Pricing: Affordable for individuals and small teams without compromising quality.
AI content assistance for paid users was added to streamline the content-creation workflow even further, making good writing easier and faster.
Our Approach
We took a practical, iterative approach, no heavy frameworks or long meetings, just steady improvements based on direct user feedback. Each decision aimed to eliminate friction and distractions from the user’s workflow.
Our guideline was always simple: "If it adds complexity without clear value, remove it."

Modern UI Approach
SchedOwl is intentionally designed with clarity in mind, typography-focused layouts, calm visuals, and interactions that feel natural. We avoided clutter at all costs, aiming instead for a UI that feels simple, modern, and enjoyable to use.
Launch & Early Success
SchedOwl’s launch on Product Hunt and AppSumo validated our hypothesis. Early users consistently praised:

Affordability without sacrificing quality.
This initial success confirmed our belief that a product doesn’t need to be feature-heavy or expensive to be valuable.
Design System
SchedOwl’s design system prioritises clarity and visual consistency. It features Inter as the primary typeface for readability, an indigo-led colour palette balanced by neutral tones, minimalist and reusable UI components, and crisp, custom-designed iconography. This consistent and scalable system ensured the interface remained clean, intuitive, and easy to expand.
Reflection and takeaway
Building SchedOwl taught me the immense value of restraint in product design. By prioritising simplicity, we found our niche clearly positioned between overly complicated tools and overly simplistic solutions.
Our next steps include expanding to additional platforms while continuing to refine and preserve the product’s simplicity and clarity.
